Is high school over yet? Honestly, the end of May cannot come soon enough.

[private to Bella]
You seem awfully curious about that Masen boy. Just an emotional observation from your dear brother.

The assignments I've been getting from my teachers are simply elementary these days. I think maybe they're going easy on us because it's last the last semester of our high school careers. How is this supposed to prepare anyone for college? Reading Plato's Republic isn't exactly a challenge.

[private to Alice]
I know you're worried, I could feel it in the lunch room. I'm trying to give you as little of a reason to worry about me as possible, but it's most difficult at school, especially the lunch room. These two years in Forks have been far more tempting for my thirst than anywhere else we've ever lived.

One of these days we'll simply have to stop going to high school. I can only hear my precious books being dissected so many times.

As to 'that Masen boy', perhaps I am. I know it's a bad thing Boys of this time and day rarely read Austen or listen to Debussey - it's curious. Did Alice say

Don't forget they're being dissected by people who I feel are not qualified to teach these things.

I just noticed you haven't been really taken with a human like that before.

How could I?

No, I haven't. I suppose I never had the impetus to do so.

At least you graduate this year. I get to read these books next year too. Shall we just run away together, and blow of graduation?

It's OK, I'm not that worried. You were never going to hurt any of them. I know it's been tempting, and you put up with it for me. I'v probably said it a hundred times, but thank you.

Running away sounds extremely tempting. We might as well hold out until graduation. I can add that diploma to the others I've collected through the years.

I just wish there was a way you didn't have to worry at all. There's no need to thank me. I should be the one thanking you, after all.

If you say so. But the option is still open if Republic just becomes too much. On the plus side, Calculus just became interesting. Can you guess who I sit beside now?

We can play this 'Who should be thanking who' game for the next century, and neither of us will win. So lets say we skip that part, and I'll come find you as soon as I'm done with my potential torture plans for our lovely sister Bella.
